Caribbean Construction Law

A Regional and Comparative Treatise

Robert D. Forrester

Caribbean Construction Law — front cover

Caribbean Construction Law: A Regional and Comparative Treatise is a comparative treatise on construction law across the CARICOM jurisdictions. It treats the constitutional and statutory sources, public procurement, the standard forms, payment and certification, bonds and surety, liquidated damages and delay, and the resolution of construction disputes — including Guyana’s Arbitration Act 2024 — across the Commonwealth Caribbean, with the civil-law jurisdictions noted where they diverge. The Press publishes the verification status of every case in the Table of Cases — whether it has been checked against the primary judgment, when, and against which source — at thesovereignpressgy.com/verification, and updates that register with each errata cycle. Published by The Sovereign Press, Georgetown, 2026; 731 pages; law stated as at 24 April 2026. Available under a named-seat licence for professional use.

Digital Reader’s Edition: available now (ISBN 978-976-8369-24-6). In print this quarter: the numbered Subscribers’ Edition, by subscription until 31 December 2026. The hardback and paperback ISBNs are reserved for later printings.

Licence a seat

The digital edition is licensed by named seat, one licence key for each reader, and is not sold through a retailer. Write to publisher@thesovereignpressgy.com. The procedure is:

  1. Enquire using the form below (Enquire about purchasing) or write to publisher@thesovereignpressgy.com, stating the number of seats. Firms and institutions may ask for a numbered quotation.
  2. We send payment details: an invoice (a numbered quotation first, if you asked for one). Payment is by bank transfer against our invoice; mobile money will be offered once available.
  3. When payment is received, one licence key per seat is emailed to the buyer.
  4. Each reader registers their key at thesovereignpressgy.com/key and accepts the Digital Licence Terms v2.9.
  5. Within three working days of registering, the reader receives their own copy stamped with their name.

Founding Readers: until 25 October 2026, the first 50 keys are GY$25,200 (USD 120) for any reader.

A firm may buy several keys, one for each associate, each named when they register; five or more are charged at a reduced rate.

Payment against the invoice accepts the licence terms, and so does registering a key. If your organisation requires a signed document instead, the Schedule — Licence Particulars is completed and executed.
